Carl Cook Photography: Wolves
"From 1984-87, I served as a founding member of the Board of Directors at Wolf Haven, a nonprofit wildlife sanctuary located near Tenino, Washington. As a photojournalist and naturalist, I studied the sanctuary’s wolves up close, documenting their behavior -- albeit captive. The photographs presented here are samples from my study, The Wolves At Your Door, an exhibit last shown at Seattle’s Pacific Science Center in 1988. The photos were chosen from thousands of individual pictures I made at Wolf Haven from 1984-87."

Bugs Here...Bugs There...We See Bugs Everywhere!
Reviewed October 18, 2000 by Jane Carlson-Pickering, a teacher from West Kingston, Rhode Island who is affiliated with the site. This website was developed by third graders for studying about Entomology. Students posted their data collected while studying various insects so that other children can learn from their research. It has a very creative format includes all of the multiple intelligences with pages devoted to everything from drawings & poetry,to their Internet participation with the Bugscope Project located at the University of Illinois. See some wonderful images of deer ticks and mosquitoes (mosquitoes page is currently finished, but we are waiting for our webmaster to post our additions) taken by students through an electron microscope! Teachers will love the Bugs Unite lesson plan that also offers them many wonderful links to related sites.

Brazos River Rattlesnake Ranch
"From his ranch in Santo, Texas, herpetologist Bayou Bob educates us about the venomous snakes of the Southwest including the western diamondback rattlesnake, broad-banded copperhead, and coral snake. His photos are terrific, and the descriptions are enhanced with audio such as the hissing of the rattlesnake. Did you know the rattlesnake is responsible for more serious and fatal snake bites than any other North American reptile? Be sure to read Bob’s Field Safety Tips for advice on avoiding and coping with snake encounters."

Reviewed July 21, 1999 by a 17 year old from Reading, England who is affiliated with the site. This site is primarily about animals in captivity, but it has a lot of information about big cats, elephants, wolves, and orca amongst others. It is updated regularly and has a news section with information about what is going on in the world of animal welfare. It has some photos of different animals, but could have more. It is quick and easy to navigate though.

Boomer Wolf Web Site
"Boomer presents a cornucopia of wolf goodies. My top pick is the Wolf Walk game -- a wolf quiz ("What color are arctic wolves?") made into an interactive board game. Follow the link from the front page. I also liked the short MPEG wolf videos, and the educational articles on red and gray wolves. Don’t miss the wolf howls and their human imitators on Hear the Wolves Sing. To find these features, either explore through Wolves, Wolves, Wolves, or use the drop down menu on the front page."
