BrainPOP
Reviewed February 17, 2000 by Lisa Ebersole, a reader from NY, NY who is affiliated with the site. BrainPOP is a health, science and technology (HS&T) site just for kids. We have animated movies, comics, experiments and fun facts that deal with topics like Relativity, Menstruation, the Rainforest, Airplanes and more. There is also direct email to the site’s characters who answer questions about homework, the world, friendship...anything at all. The site is geared to kids ages 6-14 and the experiments range in level of difficulty. It’s a fun and educational place for kids that I encourage you to take a look at.

Brain Pop Senses
"The animators at BrainPop are back with five excellent pages devoted to our five senses: hearing, seeing, smelling, tasting and feeling. Each page includes a movie, a quiz, an experiment and a activity. Free movie passes are now limited to three per day so you won’t be able to view all five movies in one visit. Unlimited BrainPop access is available by paid subscription for both families and classrooms."

Biology Education Interactive Web
"Last summer five Washington, D.C. high school students spent their vacation at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute developing these fabulous online multimedia biology demonstrations, many of which deal with the heart. Start at Size Principle of the Heart in Mammals (ever notice the fast heart beat of your small furry pet friends?) move onto A Primer on Electrocardiogram and then visit Factors Affecting Heart Rate (does your heart rate increase or decrease at high elevations?) These amazing Java and Shockwave animations are my don’t-miss-them picks of the week."
