Beyond the Black Stump Children’s Zone
Reviewed April 26, 1999 by Nancy Hill, a reader from Tucson, Arizona who is not affiliated with the site. Beyond Black Stump is an Australian expression that means something is really remote. But this site is not remote! It may well be the best reference site for kids on the Web, and it is a personal site. The site creator is Pete, a father of four. The site is a safe starting point for fun or research. It’s a huge noncommercial list of well screened, excellently organized, and searchable kid appropriate sites. Beyond the Black Stump is the first stop for searching for fun or for a specific topic to help with a school project.

Bartleby.com: Familiar Quotations
"John Bartlett, an American publisher born in 1820, published nine editions of "Familiar Quotations" in his lifetime. This is the 1919 tenth edition, the first to be produced after his death. Traverse it with the search function, or the chronological and alphabetic author indexes. There is also an alphabetic concordance of keywords, which is interesting to peruse, but not as useful as a topic index would be."
