Word Central
"Word Central, the student dictionary site from Merriam-Webster, is my pick of the day. In addition to a fast dictionary function, you can play games (on the second floor), and build your dictionary that includes your own made-up words (every family has a few, don’t they?) Other fun clicks are the rhyming Mad Libs game found in the Music Room’s Verse Composer, and the Daily Buzzword, available both online and via email."

Wonder Korner
"Wonder Korner calls itself "The Question/Answer Place for Curious Kids." It is a great site to browse, because all the previous questions are listed, with answers in the form of a link to a Web site. "When did Cincinnati become a city?" "How do Amish people live?" Find out by following the links that author Bonnie Bruno has uncovered. Still need an answer to your burning question? A submission form can be found at the bottom of the page. "
