Poetry for Kids
"Kenn Nesbitt doesn’t have any children of his own yet, but writes whimsical poetry with his future progeny in mind. My favorite is titled "Surfing". "I went out and bought a new surf board, so I could go surfing the Net, but it won’t plug into my computer, so I haven’t gone surfing just yet.""

Poetry Writing with Jack Prelutsky
"Scholastic.com presents Jack Prelutsky, author of many poetry collections for kids, including "It’s Raining Pigs and Noodles" and "The New Kid on the Block." "Poetry’s cool -- and a lot of fun! In this workshop, I will help you turn your words and ideas into descriptive and powerful poems. As you explore the world of poetry writing, I’ll share with you writing tips that I use when I write my poems, as well as ideas for revising your work. I won’t be commenting on your poems, but I’ll enjoy reading them after you’ve posted them online.""

Poetry Zone
"Welcome Poets! If you’re between four and eighteen years old, we’ll publish your poem in The Poetry Zone. You’ll also find poems and interviews by some of the best children’s poets around -- and much more. Some of the "much mores" are a Cat Poetry contest which ends May 31, 2001 (those are for poems written about cats, not by cats), poetry book reviews written by kids, and a monthly poll of favorite poetry collections. Submitted works can be read in the Poetry Gallery for about a month, and then are archived in the Old Poems Rest Home."

Poetry for Kids
"Kenn Nesbitt is an young poet (I get to call him that ‘cause he’s younger then me) who writes zany poems with hysterically funny punch lines. Try reading them aloud to your kids or your class, or better yet, have your children read them to their friends and classmates. Here’s a snippet from ""The Amusement Park."" "" We went to an amusement park, my family and I. We rode on rides so scary I expected I would die. We rode a rollercoaster called The Homicidal Comet. It had so many loop-de-loops it nearly made us vomit."""

Outside the Lines: Poetry At Play
Reviewed by Brad Burg, a reader from Morristown, NJ, who is affiliated with the site. "Hi! I built this site around my book of graphic poetry for children, ‘Outside the Lines: Poetry At Play’ (Penguin). The site explains to kids a bit about what graphic poetry is – and why that may be a better name than concrete poetry. It also has motion poems (a step beyond graphic), puzzle poems, and some songs."
