Learn2 to Write a Thank-you Note
"If someone does something especially nice for you, it’s important to let that person know how much you appreciate it. A thank-you note is the perfect means to do so. It’s a personal touch that’s enjoyed by all involved. Besides, it only takes a few minutes, and the results can last much longer. This five-step Learn2 tutorial has some really good advice on keeping your thank-you note materials accessible and organized, and ends with this instruction (which has often been my own downfall): "Mail it!""

Last Living Veterans of America’s Wars
"When a witness to a significant historical event dies, we lose an important original source. And the only history we have left is what was written or otherwise recorded. These tables with numbers and dates remind us to take advantage of the living links to our past while we still can. Many people have compared the September 11th attacks to Pearl Harbor. There are more than six and half million World War II veterans still alive. Is there a veteran your family or school or neighborhood you learn from?"

Kids Domain: Halloween
"Just listing all the Halloween topics at Kids Domain would take up more space than I have here, so I’ll just mention my favorites. Party Fun is a good place to start when planning offline Halloween activities for kids. Clip art is excellent for use both offline and online (with a courtesy link back to Kids Domain.) I also liked the craft ideas, and the printable coloring pages, word searches and crossword puzzles. When visiting their online games page, be sure to follow the small links at the bottom to their Javascript and Shockwave games."

Inside an American Factory
"What was factory life like at the turn of the century? Now you can step onto the factory floor of The Westinghouse Works company of 1904, as it was filmed for the Louisiana Purchase Exposition held in St. Louis that year. Even if you don’t download these very large MPEG and AVI films, there is much to read and learn at this site. The companies of Westinghouse Works prided themselves on being modern and progressive, and were proud of the working conditions in their plants. For details on their welfare programs and the company-built employee housing, read "Working Conditions" which you will find at the Special Presentation link near the bottom of the first page. "
