All About Paula Danziger
"The publisher of Danziger’s second Amber Brown series (the one for early readers) brings us a fun Q&A. Her advice to young writers? ""If you want to be a writer, read as much as you can ... write and rewrite ... Don’t eat tuna fish salad with mayo if it’s been out in the sun too long."" Also visit Fun Stuff, which has four printable coloring pages and two Amber Brown bookmarks."

Alexander Graham Bell: The Inventor
"Although the telephone is Bell’s most famous invention, it is not, by a long shot, his only invention. "Alexander Graham Bell’s first invention, a device for cleaning wheat, was developed when he was just eleven years old. At the age of 75, a year before his death, he received a patent on the fastest water craft in the world: the HD-4. Between these two inventions, Bell’s fertile brain formulated hundreds of new concepts." Air conditioning, CD-ROMS, and solar heating panels are a few of the many modern conveniences that can be traced to Bell."

Alexander Graham Bell Family Papers
"This Library of Congress exhibit currently contains 1400 items documenting Bell’s invention of the telephone and his involvement in the first telephone company. It will eventually triple in size. "Included among Bell’s papers is his experimental notebook containing the entry from March 10, 1876, describing the first successful experiment with the telephone, during which he spoke through the instrument to his assistant the famous words, ‘Mr. Watson -- Come here -- I want to see you.’""

Albert Einstein Archives
"Although there is an Einstein for Kids section here at the Albert Einstein Archives of The Hebrew University, it would be a shame if you stopped there, because the rest of the site is so much better. Best clicks for students are the biographical timeline, the Multimedia Mini-Exhibit and the audio recordings. The Mini-Exhibit is a slide show of highlights from Einstein’s life and achievements. Unfortunately the pages turn automatically, and if you want to stay at a particular page, my only advice is to use the previous arrow to view it again."

Abraham Lincoln Research Site
Reviewed Friday, May 28, 1999 at 13:40:26 by a teacher from Miami, Florida who is affiliated with the site. This is an educational website designed for families, schools, homes, students of all ages, teachers, and anyone interested in Abraham Lincoln’s life and achievements. The website includes large sub-sections on Lincoln’s wife, Mary, and his assassination by John Wilkes Booth. It also features 3 "Especially For Students" pages which will help pupils who are doing reports on Abraham Lincoln, Mary Todd Lincoln, or the Lincoln assassination. The Website’s author taught American history for 28 years and has tried hard to include the most interesting stories about Lincoln in the website including one on the 11 year old girl who suggested he grow a beard and Mr. Lincoln’s pre-assassination dream.

I am a retired American history teacher and am the only Lincoln website webmaster who helps students with their Lincoln research through email. My website has 81 separate URL’s covering Mr. Lincoln’s life, family, and assassination. The site is carried by several online encyclopedias, including Microsoft Encarta and Encyclopedia Britannica.
