South Carolina Aquarium
Reviewed May 1, 2001 by Lisa Joyce, a reader from Charleston, South Carolina who is affiliated with the site. This site is wonderful. Each time I visit, I am surprised by a different homepage movie, which depicts exhibits throughout the Aquarium and some of the animals you find there. The site offers great children’s activities that get kids excited about marine life and conservation issues. Best of all, it’s easy to navigate and very user friendly for parents and children.

Poo.org: The Home of Grumpy Dune
"Dancing and singing silliness are the order of day at Poo.org. With your virtual television tuned to either the dancing or singing channel, move your mouse (no clicking) over the instructions on the right, and you’ll notice your performing cats starting to move to the music. As you get the hang of it, try experimenting with both vertical and horizontal mouse movements. That’s all there is to it, but isn’t it fun to be silly sometimes?"

Mainzer Dressed Cat Postcards
"Published between 1940 and 1965, these anthropomorphic postcards created by New Yorker Alfred Mainer, were printed in Belgium, Turkey and Switzerland. Collector Glenda Moore says ""The charm of the postcards is not just in the fact that the cats are in everyday ’people’ situations, but in the amount of detail in each picture - note the pickpocket on the train, for example, or the fact that most of the ’better dressed’ female cats have poodles as pets."" She has carefully captioned each of her 112 postcards and organized them by subjects such as Around the House, Just Being Kids and School Time."

Hamster Trivia
"Just a quick quiz to test your hamster knowledge - answers are at the bottom of the page! These ten questions (from ""How did the hamster get it’s name?"" to ""How long will a hamster live?"") provide a succinct educational overview of hamsters as pets. By the way, the answers are from the German ""hamstern"" which means ""to hoard"" – and about two years."
