Fake Out!
"Every week the Fake Out! vocabulary words are presented in three lists divided by grade level. One of last week’s words was galluses. Are galluses the hard, rough spots of skin on your hands and feet? Are galluses people who wear glasses? Or are galluses suspenders? After you decide, you’ll learn if you are right and how many other players chose each possible answer. Also fun is submitting your own wacky definitions for next week’s words. Be sure to return to see how many people were duped by your phony definition."

Etymologic.com
Reviewed January 17, 2003 by Dave Taylor, a parent from Boulder, Colorado, who is affiliated with the site. This simple site features a 10-question quiz randomly drawn from an extensive database of etymology (word origin) and related topics. It’s tough, but it’s highly entertaining and quite compelling! After each game, players also have the opportunity to submit their own questions, if desired.

EdHelper:Word Seach
"EdHelper also generates a variety of puzzles, but not all are free, so navigating the choices can be confusing. To make a custom word search, enter your words, and click "Create Word Search Now!" The next page displays dozens of formatting options, but only the first three are free, the balance are for paid subscribers only. Your selection includes upper case, lower case, or no backward and diagonal words (for an easier puzzle.) Custom crossword puzzles are also free. You find the link on the horizontal "Also Try" menu."

Dress up games
Reviewed February 11, 2002 by Amber-Rose, 17 years old from Australia, who is not affiliated with the site. This site is a collection of pages for creating little dolls and then dressing them in the latest fashions. You can also make fairies and other types. There are also links to other online games for children ranging from ages 4/5 through to 15/16.

Dress Up Games
"Rather than a single game, this site is a collection of dress up games, both on the site and off. Some of my favorite categories include Celebrities (check out You Wear It Well), Historical (don’t miss Mr. Picassohead) and Making Faces (try Hairstyle Runner.) Getting back to the kids, under Games for Kids, there are eight categories including Food, Cartoon Heroes, Girls (a very long list of links) and Boys. A terrific site, but keep in mind that not all the games are appropriate for all age groups."
