Funschool
Reviewed June 13, 1999 by a parent from Toronto who is not affiliated with the site. This is the only site my 5 year old asks for. It has games categorized by ability level, and although some may seem low tech to older kids, the smaller ones love them. They teach counting, colours, pattern recognition, letters.......it’s a great tool. And mom has some fun playing them too!

Funschool Geography Games
"Nestled among dozens of educational games for upper elementary students are five geography games. On this page, you’ll find Capital Field Trip, Capitals, Flag Flags, Where in the World Is? and U.S. State Detective (""Where is Illinois? No, that’s Wisconsin."") Fourth, fifth and sixth grades can race against the clock, as they learn the capitals, flags, countries and states. Younger kids can select the first or second grade category to play Geography Jumble where they can rearrange the virtual alphabet magnets to spell geography-related words."

Funschool.com
"From preschool to sixth grade, Funschool.com is a cornucopia of grade-specific activities. All are Java-based, so have the same browser requirements as Billy Bear (see above). At the bottom of each activity screen are buttons to play another scenario of the same game, to restart the current game, or return to the grade-level game listings. Learning these will help you get around. My favorite preschool game is Fishing for Numbers, where the player matches numbers to sets of fish. For older kids, I like the geography game "Where in the world?""

FunBrain’s Word Turtle
"With four levels of difficulty, and a choice between interactive and printable play, Fun Brain’s Word Turtle hits the spot. The interactive option is unique among today’s sites. It allows you to create a puzzle, and play it immediately. It does not, however, allow you to save the puzzle for play at another or time, or to create a version you can add to your own website. I’m not as keen on the printable version, however, because the row and column numbers add unnecessary clutter to the printed page."
