Whole Island of Yo-Yo Tricks
"The spinner "is the first trick that the beginner should master, as it is the basis for many other tricks. The yo-yo is first thrown sharply with the palm up, then turn your hand over. Immediately after the yo-yo has been released from the hand by the downward fling, the movement of the hand and arm should be stopped. If the throw has been correctly done, the yo-yo will sink into a spin at the end of its string before returning to the hand. To make the yo-yo climb the string before dying, give a slight jerk. Be sure that the palm of the hand is towards the yo-yo before it starts its upward climb." "

Triviaplaza
"Triviaplaza hosts 600 ten-question quizzes in three top-level categories: Geography, Movies, and Pop Music. For educational play, the Geography sub-categories and questions are excellent. For fabulous state quizzes, try Geography/Americas/ USA Shapes I & II and States I & II. Unfortunately the game play is a bit slow, as each page has to load twice per question: once for your response, and once for the correct answer."

Sweel -- a classic toy
Reviewed May 20, 1999 by a parent from Charlotte, NC who is not affiliated with the site. I like this site because it has a lot of interesting and informative information on my son’s new favorite toy. This site is a good reference site on the Sweel and has animated moves my son can view in his goal to be a Sweel expert. I have never seen a web site for one toy carry so much valuable information.

Surfing the Net with Kids: Yo-Yo
"Have you noticed all the new yo-yos walking around since the holidays? And have you considered whose job it is to remove the knots from all those new yo-yo strings? It’s Mom’s. I thought it was just me, but this week in the grocery store I saw another Mom stopped in the middle of an aisle, detangling a yo-yo string for her son. So, if you don’t mind the inevitable tangles, here are a few fun sites for the yo-yo enthusiast in your family."

Surfing the Net with Kids: Trivia
"American Heritage Dictionary defines "trivia" as "insignificant or inessential matters; trifles." On the Web, however, the word "trivia" covers all sorts of quizzes and challenges. Sometimes the subject matter is trivial ("Who owns the world’s largest gum wrapper collection?") but other times it is educational ("What’s the capital of Virginia?") You’ll find both trivial and non-trivial fun at these trivia sites."
