Yahooligans! E-cards
"This nice selection of kid-friendly cards is easy to use, but lacks features such as delayed send, multiple recipients and selectable music. My favorite cards are those listed under Special Collection. Don’t miss the fabulous animated art and game cards from thirteen-year old Miles Cooley. To learn more about Miles, and how he became Yahoo’s youngest employee, click through to his web site. You’ll find the URL on each of his cards. Being an animal lover, I also like the photo cards in the World Wild Life and Purina collections."

Yahooligans!
"The first Internet directory just for kids is still the best. Created by the folks at Yahoo!, Yahooligans! is strictly speaking not a search engine, but a searchable, browsable Internet index. Each listing is handpicked by a human (not an automated computer program) and placed in their hierarchy under one of eight main categories (such as Around the World, Art Soup or School Bell). To search their site, just enter your keywords and hit the search button. Or try browsing the index by choosing a main topic. For example under Science and Oddities, you’ll find thirty more topics from Airplanes to Weather. Choosing Robots will reward you with links to fifteen sites, each with a brief description. "

World War II: An American Scrapbook
"As this team was searching for a topic, they considered both the Civil War and World War II. Then they came to a realization. "We knew people who were part of the WWII experience... our own families. Our grandfathers and grandmothers all did their part to help win the war. Some were in the middle of it (check out Caitlin’s and Kaycie’s stories). Others were sacrificing in other ways at home (you can find out more about this in Ben’s story). Our job was to find out what parts they played." Each student tells his family’s story with words, pictures and audio clips. If your family has a WWII story to share, you are invited to add it to the guest book."

Why is my Loyalty Questioned?
"The purpose of our ThinkQuest website is to try to lessen the amount of hate and prejudice in our world by developing an awareness of America’s attitude towards Asian Americans during World War II and towards American Muslims after the terrorists’ attack on September 11. To research their topic, the authors (from a middle school in Hawaii) visited surviving members of World War II’s 442nd Regimental Combat Team (which was comprised of Japanese Americans from Hawaii and the mainland.) Their excellent work earned them a ThinkQuest Platinum award for grades six through eight."
