Surfing the Net with Kids: Holiday Sweets
"I do not bake. When my kids were younger they had a hard time accepting this, and continually tried to get me to make cookies and even chocolate truffles. Now that my daughter is ten, she’s discovered that she can do it herself. She’s progressed past pre-made cookie dough, and actually makes cookies from scratch. For the bakers at your house (whatever their ages) here are some kid-friendly holiday treats. Have a safe and happy holiday season!"

Surfing the Net with Kids: Inside a Chocolate Factory
"Our fascination with chocolate factories is aptly captured by Roald Dahl’s classic . Charlie is the proud winner of a golden ticket, his entree to the event of a lifetime: a behind-the-scenes tour of Willie Wonka’s chocolate factory. I stumbled upon these virtual chocolate factory tours just in time for the chocolate holiday Valentine’s Day. No tickets, golden or otherwise, required."

Soda Fountain
"Cold sodas and milk shakes are still part of summer, even if the soda fountain counter is gone from the local pharmacy. This comprehensive nostalgia site looks at every aspect of the soda fountain era from the stories that surround the histories of Coca Cola (its original recipe included cocaine) and 7 Up (it contained lithium) to pictures of antique soda fountains. Although there are no recipes intended for use at home, I found this site to be a fun historical romp through summer days long past."

Red & Yellow Bright Ideas: Christmas Recipes
"Why are the red and yellow M&M’s the only ones with bright ideas? Does this mean that the other colors are, umm, less than bright? Anyway, their seasonal ideas include recipes, family activities, homemade gifts and decorations made with all varieties of Mars candies (not just M&Ms.). The photographs are mouth-watering, and every kid I know loves cooking with candy. If you’d like regular ideas in your email box, you can sign up for Red & Yellow’s Bright Ideas Newsletter."

Recipe Source: Kids
"The good news is that there are over 70,000 recipes at Recipe Source. The bad news is that within each category, the recipes are arranged alphabetically. This link will take you directly to the Kid section, which houses 174 recipes, but I recommend returning to the home page instead, and browsing Ethnic Cuisine by Region, or Recipes by Type of Dish. If you don’t mind long pages with lots of recipes, there are some great categories to peruse (such as Camping , Diabetic, Baby Food, and Crafts.)"

For each of the forty destinations, Buster in his unmistakable style writes about his experiences in short, kid-friendly entries. Each blog also contains links to online songs, video clips, or recipes that he’s gathered during his travels."
