Museum of Web Art
Reviewed July 31, 1999 by a reader from Brentwood, CA USA who is affiliated with the site. The Museum of Web Art is a family oriented website designed to educate and enlighten people of all ages to the potential of the web medium. The individual elements of Web design--buttons, counters, wallpaper, splash pages, etc.--are presented in a bright, easy-to-navigate, museum-style interface. Virtual volunteers man the Visitor’s Center in rotating shifts, and the Kids Wing is well-supervised by Dot, the Fun Activities Director. There is also a convenient tour designed to present a quick overview of the museums various exhibits.

Museum of Web Art Kids Wing
"Fabulous, fantastic, fresh and fun! The art games (think of online paint programs, but then take one big creative step forward) are absolutely addictive. The musical Lizzy stories are in a class all by themselves. When you’re done with the kids wing, do continue on to the rest of the site — which takes a museum approach to Web graphics such as navigational buttons, Web site counters, and online advertising (including the now classic Hewlett Packard pong-game banner ad.)"

Metropolitan Museum of Art

This site is great because you can literally see the exhibits and "tour" the museum. For every person who can’t make it to the museum or before going to the museum. You can actually see a floor plan.
